Dave Thomas is a veteran and family man, a retired Locomotive Engineer, and born again Christian. He has been married to his wife Kathy Thomas for 48 years as of March, 2024, and has 4 children, two son in laws and seven grandchildren residing in Jackson County.

Dave is deeply invested in the common defense of the freedoms and liberties we enjoy as Americans and citizens of the great State of Missouri.

"During my time in the military and raising a family, I learned the best way to preserve our families during times of conflict and challenge is to work as a team."

Dave is committed to the least amount of Governmental imposition as possible to maintain our civil peace and common interests, and believes the best government is self government.

"There is no greater government on earth than our own, but it takes all of us to make it happen, in a Republic like ours, we make it happen by choosing representatives who serve the people and not themselves."

Dave is committed to honoring God and the same truths that apply to all people as created equal and as shared in common.

"I believe that all human beings are created equal from the moment of conception and implantation in the mother's womb".

Dave believes a republican form of government is the best possible expression for equal representation of every person and minority population.

"I support a concurrent majority for ratification of legislation."
  • We are endowed equally by our creator with life and body as is self evident in the nature of our reproduction. We are male and female for the exercise of reproductive right to life and liberty in the pursuit of happiness for our posterity as well as ourselves.

A more perfect union is a voluntary union, produced by a mutual consent to hold to the same truths as observable in our nature as equally created, without which it is nearly impossible to agree on compulsory guidelines for exercising a civil peace.

We are a republic founded upon the same truths with equal justice for all, therefore our greater peace comes from our greater agreement in the non-negotiable truths that frame our safe guards against violence and infringements of rights.
  • Parental rights are endowed by the same nature of our own equal creation, through natural reproduction, in short children are given as a blessing of increase as a posterity to the parents in the core structure of the family. The union between one man and one woman is the source substance of every human being who comes into the world. We should not lightly ignore, impose, or otherwise infringe upon the family as created in nature. It is our responsibility to care for our families, and support the marriage between a man and a woman in as much as is possible for us to do, as the primary foundation for life and reproduction of our posterity.
  • Citizenship in America, begins at the State, every person in the Nation has their family and property in one of the 50 States. In that sense every State is a border State. All powers not delegated to Washington, DC are retained in every State. DC can never become a State, because the land designated for our equal representation belongs first to every State equal, and then delegated to governmental use, for our mutual benefit. People who live in DC should recognize that it is a privilege to live there, and not require Statehood for themselves but rather regard themselves as indebted to all States, with equal representation by the mechanisms now existing that allow for them to vote and have influence in the choice for President.
Dave is passionate about the core structure of our faith based allegiance and policies in communion for defense of life, and liberty, through oaths and pledges to uphold the tenets of our Declaration, PreAmble, Constitution and Bill of Rights.

" I Believe and observe, we are created equal and endowed with unalienable rights by our creator, and the same fountain of justice flows for one and for all springing up from this grounding in the same truths, we hold to be self-evident".

All reasonable policy is policy that does not interrupt or infringe upon, the non-negotiable truths of equal endowment, and must not be maligned by the government. We are created equal and endowed by our creator, not one another, much less the government.
To properly represent the truth, and properly represent the common and best interest of the people as a servant.

To this end both oaths and pledges are required, and every elected person has a responsibility to perform in acceptable fashion as the people who have elected them demand and deserve. With honesty and integrity in sworn allegiance to our common creator, and to Him who so loved US that He gave Himself for US.

The greatest example in all of history and can never be greater by any other is the example of Jesus Christ who having done no wrong or committed any sin at all, submitted Himself to God's judgement over all the rest, and endured the death on the cross, saying "Father forgive them, they don't know what they are doing".

There is no greater expression of love that we can demonstrate for one another than this, and our storied history is replete with those who died to make America great!

Serving at home or abroad, we owe a debt of gratitude to Christ and those who like Him have shed their blood for us!

Every elected official should always remember they are not their own, but rather, belong to God and to the people who have elected them!

How great is the Nation whose God is the Lord, and whose representatives are like Him.

Psalm 33:22
The core responsibilities of a State Representative in Missouri, are to love the truth, hold to it, and serve God and the common interests of the people equal to their own. In short to love and honor their constituents as they love themselves and their own family.

This is my deepest desire, to be God's servant and hear Him say "well done", while being faithful to create healthy and good policy in the common interest and best possible defense of the people, and my family in equal.

To honor the Constitution of the State as already written, and to make sure every minority population as assigned to each Representative is properly represented in any State wide decision for ratification of legislation that affects every citizen of the State.

To work together at the State level with other reasonable people in the common defense of our families, children, and their education as shaped primarily by their parents.

To hear, and satisfy the governmental and representative needs of our families, communities, and public services, within the population of District 36 and the City of Grandview.

To advocate and advance healthy personal and community standards for a safe and prosperous community, as established, and maintained in more perfect union of blessing and prosperity as God desires for us and our State is built by us to address in common.

In Short:
To advance and secure for ourselves and our posterity, the freedom and liberty of God's blessings, by which we may pursue happiness without violence to our persons or property by persons, or State.

The best possible government is the least imposing.
I was employed at an ornamental iron shop for one year, I learned to shape sheet metal, and braze metal framing components to it, while graduating up to arc welding, and to apply acrylic to our finished product.
Yes, just as in the case of the "Missouri Compromise", where the majority opinion arrived at a wrong position on the issue of slavery, and we entered into the Union as a "slave State" instead of a free State and now exists in that hour of our history as an everlasting example of the tyranny of the majority by the imposition of direct democracy.

We are now faced with many decisions that are not being tempered by the inclusion of proper elected representation of the minority populations in every District in the House.

While the concurrent majority by Congressional Districts is helpful the greater representation occurs closest to the people as State House Representatives are.

So I will support the concurrent majority requirement for ratification of any decision of imposition of legislation affecting the whole State. Whether at the Congressional level, or the House District level, again I say the House District level is more fair and just.
