Dave Williams (Colorado judge)
Dave Williams was a judge for the Colorado 8th Judicial District Court. He was appointed to this position in August of 2003.[1] He retired in 2013, effective December 19, 2013.[2]
Education
Williams received his B.A. degree in political science from Michigan State University in 1968. He then earned a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School in 1971.[1]
Career
Williams worked as a private practice lawyer with various firms in Fort Collins, Colorado, from 1971 until his judicial appointment in 2003. He started with a general practice and later moved to cases involving real estate and commercial entities and transactions.[1]
Elections
2012
Williams was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 76.08 percent of the vote.[3]

Judicial performance evaluation
The Eighth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.[4]
Judge Williams was recommended for retention by an unanimous vote. [5]
