David A. Singleton
David A. Singleton ran for election to the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners to represent District 3 in Minnesota. Singleton lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Singleton was an Independence Party candidate for Minnesota Secretary of State in the 2014 elections.[1] He lost in the party's primary election on August 12, 2014.
Biography
Singleton is a St. Paul, Minnesota native.[2] He earned his bachelor's degree from Hamline University.[3]
Professionally, Singleton started his own business in 2000.[3]
Singleton has been active in local government. He was elected twice to the District Planning Council of the city of St. Paul and served as council president and executive committee chair. At the time of his candidacy, Singleton was a sitting member of the Ramsey County Review & Appeals Board, reviewing cases on appeal from the Office of Administrative Law. He also served as the senior commissioner for city of Roseville's Human Rights Commission. He was appointed in 2008 and then reappointed by the mayor and city council. He served as chairman for three consecutive terms, vice chair for one term and also served as the senior commissioner.[2]

Singleton sought election to the office of Minnesota Secretary of State. He was defeated by Bob Helland in the Independence Party primary on August 12.[1] The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
