David A. Thompson is a judge for the 19th Circuit Court in Michigan. He was elected to the court on November 4, 2014, for a six-year term commencing on January 1, 2015, and expiring on December 31, 2020. [1]


Education

Thompson received his undergraduate degree from Lake Superior State University and his J.D. degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1993.[2]

Military service

Thompson served in the United States Coast Guard Reserve from 1986 to 1994.[2]

Career

Before his election to the 19th Circuit Court, Thompson served as the director of the 19th Circuit Court's Family Division. He also previously served as the chief assistant prosecuting attorney for Manistee County.[2]
