David Ahrens
David Ahrens was a member of the Madison Common Council in Wisconsin, representing District 15. Ahrens assumed office in 2013. Ahrens left office in 2019.
Ahrens ran in a special election to the Dane County Board of Supervisors to represent District 17 in Wisconsin. Ahrens lost in the special general election on June 4, 2019.
Ahrens was the District 15 representative on the Madison Common Council in Wisconsin from 2013 to 2019. Ahrens did not seek re-election in 2019.
Although common council elections in Madison are officially nonpartisan, Ahrens has been affiliated with the Democratic Party.[1]
Biography
Ahrens earned a master's degree in industrial relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.[2]
When he served on the city council, Ahrens' professional experience included working as a public health researcher at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He had also served on the board of the Lake Edge Neighborhood Association.[2]

The city of Madison, Wisconsin, held an election for common council on April 4, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was January 3, 2017.
All 20 common council seats were up for election in 2017. Incumbents ran for re-election in 19 of the 20 districts. They were unopposed in 15 of those races. Incumbent David Ahrens ran unopposed in the general election for the District 15 seat on the Madison Common Council.[3]
