Campaign website

Anderson's campaign website stated the following:

Medicare for ALL

America is one of the world's largest economies, and yet, too many of our citizens suffer due to healthcare issues. Healthcare costs have skyrocketed over the past few decades. Insurance companies continue to raise premiums and offer junk plans with inadequate benefits and unclear coverage restrictions. Americans regularly declare bankruptcy due to medical debt. That’s why I will work with my colleagues in Congress to create a universal single-payer healthcare system.

Under Medicare for All, every American will have access to high-quality, affordable healthcare. It's time we stopped forcing our citizens to choose between healthcare or groceries. As your elected representative, I will stop the abuse of power by corporate health insurance companies and I will fight for Medicare for All.

Gun Control

I believe gun safety is paramount. We can bring better gun control laws by eliminating gun sale loopholes—no more selling guns on social media and other online platforms that are not licensed, gun dealers. If someone is found to be selling guns online without proper background checks, they need to be arrested and held to the highest standards in a court of law. Universal background check on the sale of guns in America. A Universal background check will include county, state, and federal criminal record checks, verifications of past employment, education, professional licenses and certification, searches of government and industry-specific sanction lists. No more private sellers: the only place that should be selling guns are FFL dealers that sell guns for profit under federal law regulations. It is too many mass shootings in America, but by eliminating private sellers, we can prevent many mass shootings and lower the crime rates all across America.

Education

Teachers are underpaid, period. The American education system is broken, and it has been for years. We are the best country in the world, but we have kids in High school that are reading on a third-grade level. Texas is the best state in America, but we are ranked 41st nationwide in classroom spending. Texas children deserve better than that. If I get elected to Congress, I will fight for higher pay for Teachers and more classroom spending state-wide because our kids deserve better than what we are giving them now. How can we call them our future, but not give them the proper tools to get ready for the future? The cost of a college education is at an all-time high. It’s crazy we are putting our students through this.

No one should go into debt because they want a higher education. I will fight for free college for anybody that wants to go. As long as you keep your GPA at 3.0 & above, you will get free college. If your GPA falls below a 3.0, financial aid will be available for you. I’m a believer if you want something, you must work for it, so if you want that free college under my plan, all you need is a GPA of 3.0 & above, and you will never pay a cent or go into debt while you are pursuing your college education.

COVID-19 showed us that we need medical professionals across America. We are short on doctors and nurses, but students do not go into those professions because they do not want to go into six figure debt. I will bring a bill to the floor of Congress that will allow students to go to medical school or nursing school completely free. You must finish school, and you must work in a part of America that needs more doctors and nurses for five years after graduation, and your student loans will be forgiven entirely. We need more doctors and nurses in America to keep up with our growing population.

The Freedom Dividend

"I believe that America needs a universal basic income of $1,000/month, $12,000 a year, for every American adult over 18. This will give people extra income they can spend locally, invest in businesses, and pay off debt. The goal is to help people become self-sufficient, and with an extra $1,000/month many people will be able to do so. This will be good for our community and America as a whole. We currently have approximately 40 million Americans living below the poverty line. As the world's leading superpower, we should not have anyone below the poverty line with the number of resources available to us. It is time to break the cycle of poverty and start the cycle of generational wealth."

LGBTQIA+ Rights

I support the Equality Act, which would provide consistent and explicit antidiscrimination protections for LGBTQ people across key areas of life including employment, housing, credit, education, public spaces and services, federally funded programs, and jury service. No matter a person’s sexual orientation, you deserve to be treated like everyone else. I will stand up against discrimination and fight for the rights of not only the LGBTQIA+, but all people. At the end of the day, we are all humans, and we all deserve to be treated equally.

Women's Rights

No woman should be told what she can and cannot do with her body. I will repeal the Hyde Amendment, which has prevented millions of people from accessing legal abortion care for decades. Abortion is healthcare under Medicare for All abortion will be available to anyone who needs it. Seven hundred women die each year in the United States as a result of pregnancy or delivery complications. Under my free school for doctors and nurses, legislation that will provide women with the doctors that will bring the death rate of pregnancy. No woman should die while giving life to another human. That should be a joyous occasion, not a life or death. I will also fight for women to get equal opportunities as men do in the workplace. Women still get paid less than men do in the workplace. I believe a woman can do anything a man can do, so equal pay is deserved.

Veterans

If I am elected to Congress, I will support fully funding the VA provide quality health and mental health services to all veterans. America has a lot of homeless veterans across America, sleeping on sidewalks and under highways. They fought for our freedom and protected us from foreign enemies. They deserve better than the current living conditions. They fought for us now; let us fight for them; they need the proper help from drug addictions, mental health, and physical health. When I get elected to Congress no Veteran will be left behind.

Immigrant Rights

Immigrants bring diversity to our great country. That why I support the American Dream and Promise Act. There are currently 11+ million undocumented immigrants who are currently living in the United States. We do not need to deport them; we need to make them American citizens. I will fight to Abolish ICE and repeal the 10-year ban that blocks immigrants who have been deported from returning to their families. Nobody should be deported just because they want to make a living for their families; when I get elected to Congress, I will fight to get the kids out them cages and help immigrants become American citizens. America is the home of Opportunities.

Value Added Tax

I will support a Value-Added Tax. We need to hold the ultra rich and big corporations accountable. If they want to do business in America, they need to pay into America, plain and simple. The money we get from the Value-Added Tax will go into Medicare for All and the Freedom Dividend programs. With the Value-Added Tax, we will make sure big corporations pay their fair share. No more getting away with tax cuts and loopholes. We must stop letting big businesses use America any way they want. It time we hold them accountable and a Value-Added tax will do just that.

Americans with Disabilities

Growing up with two disabled parents, I know from a first-hand experience the trials and tribulations people with disabilities go through daily. If I get elected to Congress, I will fight to bring legislation that will bring fully funded transportation services, health care, better home health, and hospice for people with disabilities. I will also make sure the Disabilities Education Act is fully funded to ensure that children with disabilities get the best education possible.

Global Warming

2020 is tied with 2016 for the hottest year on record. The earth is basically on fire. We need to take global warming more seriously before it is too late. We are burning forests, Antarctica’s ice is melting, and we are getting record heat days daily. That is why if I get elected to Congress, I will support the Green New Deal. We have to save our planet before it is too late.

Senior Citizens

I will support the Social Security 2100 Act; social security benefits need to be extended to ensure that our senior citizens and people with disabilities are taken care of for years to come. We often forget about our senior citizens, but one thing I learned during COVID-19, our senior citizens need better health care, transportation services, and laws in place to make sure they live the best life they possibly can. I will fight for senior citizen rights when I get elected to Congress; everyone deserves to live the best life they can no matter what. I will also fight big pharma; the pharmaceutical industry has been price-gouging on medicine Americans need. Most senior citizens are on fixed incomes, but the pharmaceutical companies do not care. I will fight to put an end to big pharma pricegouging on medicine. Therefore, Medicare for All is so important; it will help many senior citizens across America from stressing about medical bills and finally start living life.

Restorative Justice

“A house divided against itself cannot stand,” were the words spoken by then presidential candidate Abraham Lincoln, on June 16, 1858, three years before the Civil War and seven years before the abolishment of slavery in the United States. Beginning with the election of our country's first African American president, Barack Obama, and through the turbulent four years of the Trump administration, we have collectively watched the reawakening of white supremacy. With this reawakening and subsequent normalization of white supremacy, the call for restorative justice for African Americans has grown louder. If elected to Congress, I will back legislation needed to forge ahead towards a true pathway to restorative justice, and the healing of our nation. I will fight for legislation to have federal acknowledgement of the impact of systemic and institutional racism towards African American communities. I will work tirelessly to bring growth and stability to our African American communities throughout the country.[2]
