David Baker Sr. (Democratic Party) is a judge for District 10B Seat 1 of the North Carolina 10th Judicial District. He assumed office on June 7, 2019. His current term ends on December 31, 2026.

Baker (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for the District 10B Seat 1 judge of the North Carolina 10th Judicial District. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

Baker was appointed by Democratic Governor Roy Cooper in 2019 to fill a vacancy following Judge Craig Croom's appointment as a special superior court judge to fill a vacant seat.[1][2]

Education

David Baker Sr. received his bachelor's degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his J.D. from the North Carolina Central School of Law.[1]

Career

Baker's career experience includes working as a principal attorney at the Law Office of David K. Baker and as a staff attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina. Baker has served as a vice chairman for the Wake County Bar Association Membership Services Committee and the Raleigh Area Development Authority, and as a chairman for the African-American Cultural Festival of Raleigh and Wake County.[1]
