I'm David. I have worked as a special education teacher, a habilitation specialist for adults with disabilities and in a variety of roles in higher education. I grew up in a single parent family and my younger brother is on the autism spectrum. I am passionate about public policy and public schools. I love meeting new people and connecting with community organizations. I am active in my synagogue and I am a member of the NAACP. I have done work with the RISE Coalition, SHIP and other community nonprofits. I hope I have the opportunity to meet you!
  • We must improve special education in Frederick County.
  • I am committed to racial equity and will do everything I can to ensure that we advance racial equity in our schools and our County.
  • We need a transparent, engaged and accessible Board of Education. I commit to holding office hours and community conversations throughout Frederick County.
I am passionate about racial equity, disability rights and LGBTQ advocacy. I continue to learn more about housing policy and I think that affordable housing must be a bigger part of the public conversation.
My very first job was as a camp counselor for kids with special needs. I ended up working at the camp for six summers, starting when I was 15 years old.
The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides

As with any good book, I experience different emotions each time I read The Marriage Plot. I also think that Eugenides is a brilliant writer.
