David Bonior is a former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Michigan's 10th and 12th congressional districts.

Bonior was first elected to the House in 1976 and won re-election in each subsequent election through 2000. Between 1991 and 2003, Bonior served as the House Democratic whip. In 2002, Bonior chose to not seek re-election in order to run for governor of Michigan. He was defeated in the Democratic primary.

Before winning election to the U.S. House, Bonior served four years in the Michigan House of Representatives.[1]
