David C. Bramlette is a federal judge on senior status with the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. He joined the court in 1991 after being nominated by President George H.W. Bush.
Early life and education
A native of Woodville, Mississippi, Bramlette graduated from Princeton University with his bachelor's degree in 1962 and from the University of Mississippi School of Law with his J.D. in 1965.[1]

Bramlette was nominated by President George H.W. Bush on July 26, 1991, to a new seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi created by 104 Stat. 5089. The American Bar Association rated Bramlette Unanimously Qualified for the nomination. Hearings on Bramlette's nomination were held before the Senate Judiciary Committee on November 20, 1991, and his nomination was reported by then-U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden (D-Del.) the next day. Bramlette was confirmed by the unanimous consent of the U.S. Senate on November 21, 1991, and he received his commission on November 25, 1991. Bramlette elected to take senior status beginning on March 20, 2006. He was succeeded in this position by Judge Halil Ozerden.[1][2][3]
