David T. Bristow was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He was appointed to this position on June 25, 2009, and his term expired on June 24, 2017.[1]

Early life and education

Judge Bristow received his B.A. from California State University at San Bernardino in 1986, where he was the Executive Editor of the university's newspaper, Chronicle Newspaper. He earned his J.D. from the University of Pacific in 1993.[2]

Career

Between 1994 and 1996, Judge Bristow served as a Deputy District Attorney for San Bernardino County. He then left to work as a Deputy Public Defender in the same county through 1997. In 1998, he went into private practice as an attorney for the Burke, Willams & Sorenson law firm in Riverside, California. He worked there from 1998 to 1999, before leaving for the firm Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer and Feld law firm, also in Riverside. In 2003, he became a shareholder attorney at Reid & Hellyer, APC, where he stayed until his judicial appointment in 2009.[2]
