David Chatelain
David Chatelain is an attorney who served as a judge pro tempore on the Third Circuit Court of Appeal of Louisiana from January 4, 2010 to July 4, 2010. He replaced the late Judge Michael G. Sullivan during this time.[1]
Education
Judge Chatelain received his B.A. degree from the University of Detroit in 1971. He earned his J.D.from Loyola Law School in 1975. In addition to his JD, Chatelain earned a Masters degree in Pastoral Ministry from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans in 1996.[1]
Career
Chatelain was in private practice from 1976 to 1981 after serving for one year as Assistant In-House Counsel for the Bank of New Orleans. After two years as managing attorney for Central Louisiana Legal Services, Inc. in Marksville, Louisiana, Chatelain became Research Attorney for Judge Jeannette Theriot Knoll on the Louisiana Third Circuit Court of Appeal from 1983-1996. He was Senior Research Attorney for Judge Knoll on the Supreme Court of Louisiana from 1997-2009.[1]
