For more than 21 years, I have had the privilege of representing clients of all walks of life in state and federal courts across the State of Louisiana. I have served as lead counsel in business and real estate transactions valued in excess of $15 million and have also served as lead trial counsel in contract, real estate, construction, Louisiana public bid law, personal injury, environmental, oil & gas, and breaches of trust cases. I have jury trial experience and have performed pro bono criminal defense work for juveniles being prosecuted as adults. In addition to private clients, I also represent a political subdivision of the State of Louisiana.
  • I have the experience, ethics, and education as well as the work ethic and demeaner to be an strong and effective judge.
  • I am running for Judge in Division “B” because I care about and want to promote greater public confidence in the Civil District Court. The court plays a vital role in the lives of every person, organization, and business in Orleans Parish. Each person going to court should expect equal treatment under the law and to have a judge that correctly interprets the facts and applies the law in a way that promotes justice. I plan to fulfill these expectations through diligent, full-time work and developing a detailed understanding of the issues present in each case. I plan to assist the court in meeting its current and future challenges, including courthouse upgrades and emerging legal issues critical to the future of New Orleans.
  • As District Judge, I will work diligently every day to ensure my courtroom operates efficiently and professionally with the utmost respect for all parties, attorneys, and witnesses. I will be prepared and consistent and will decide matters impartially based upon the facts, procedural rules, and the law. Every day, my courtroom will operate with a commitment to excellence and to equal treatment for all parties.
Environmental conditions in the urban setting impact everyone's quality of life. I am passionate about the recognition of these conditions and developing responses that promote justice and equity. I am additionally passionate about equal treatment under the law and ensuring that people regardless of their race, age, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or identity are treated with dignity and respect.
Diligent work, fair-mindedness, honesty, and making impartial decisions.
I have a diligent work ethic and a persistent, yet empathetic, problem-solver.
The core responsibilities are to exercise the utmost respect for all parties, attorneys, and witnesses; to be prepared and consistent; and to decide matters impartially based upon the admissible evidence, procedural rules, and the law.

I believe that it is important for a judge to have practical experience outside of the law and to have experience with the opportunity of starting and running a business or working for a large organization. Politics and politicians often operate in a vacuum disconnected from what is necessary to support and sustain quality of life for their constituents and from the challenges of building something physical or as an organization.
I am primarily concerned that public understanding and confidence in the court system is low and declining.
I consider public participation in the administration of justice, primarily through the jury trial system, to be the greatest opportunity for the legal system in the state of Louisiana.
My focus is on the Civil District Court. I am a boots-on-the ground person and plan to make a difference in how the court operates and to assist as the court upgrades its facilities.
