David Englin
David Englin was a Democratic member of the Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 45 from 2006-2012. He announced that he would not seek re-election for a fifth term in 2013 and resigned his seat effective August 31, 2012.[1][2]
Prior to his election to the House, Englin served as an Officer in the United States Air Force from 1996-2004, and a cadet from 1992-1996.[3] He earned his B.S. in history from the United States Air Force Academy in 1996 and his M.P.P. from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University in 1998.

Englin's answers to the Virginia State Legislative Election 2005 National Political Awareness Test are available. When asked his top priorities, he said,
"My top priorities are strengthening public education, reducing the cost of health care, making housing more affordable, defending the rights of all Virginians, and addressing the unique needs of Northern Virginia, including transportation and securing clean air and clean water. I have laid out an agenda for progressive tax reform that will make our tax system more fair and give us the resources we need to make these critical investments in the future."[7]

Englin and his wife, Shayna, have one son, Caleb, who is presently serving in the United States Air Force. In April 2012, Englin admitted that he had been unfaithful to his wife and resigned his seat. They subsequently moved to Los Angeles and after a separation remain married today. He serves as COO of the American Red Cross Los Angeles region..[1][8]
