The story of Mr. Gelb’s career is a true inspiration. He started as a small business graduate, working for a giant corporation. But, instead of getting disheartened by the challenges, he used his observations to better himself. He upskilled himself with another degree, but when he saw workers getting treated poorly, he took the brave step of starting his own venture. His business, focusing on air pollution control, not only benefits significant companies but also ensures their employees’ safety and excellent health by meeting legal requirements.

  • Protection of Reproductive rights
As a passionate advocate for the rights of Ohioans, I strongly believe that it is essential for all individuals to have access to their Social Security benefits when they retire or face injury. These benefits serve as a critical lifeline for millions of Americans who have invested their hard-earned money in the Social Security System and depend on it to fund their retirement. I will work towards eliminating the waiting periods for SSDI and work to ensure that there is no “benefit cliff” for SSDI beneficiaries.

Moreover, I will take additional steps to protect those with physical and mental disabilities and provide them with affordable, accessible technologies and treatments that will help them lead fulfilling lives. As an individual with two senior citizen parents to care for, I understand the vital importance of improving access to home- and community-based care for those with disabilities and for older Americans.

Together, we can build a brighter, more inclusive future for all Ohioans, where everyone has access to the vital resources and support they need to thrive.

Campaign website

Gelb’s campaign website stated the following:

The issues -It is all about the issues.
I fondly recollect the days when we worked seamlessly towards a promising future. It was an atmosphere of collaboration, unity and empathy, where our actions impacted both our surroundings and fellow beings. We respected and reckoned various viewpoints and made decisions accordingly. I consider this journey as one of my most challenging yet fulfilling experiences. The recollection of those moments fills me with a sense of yearning to relive those wonderful times. I assert that if we unite once again and pursue a common objective, we can undoubtedly feel that cherished energy once again.

Workers rights and pay
If I am elected, it will be my top priority to provide job opportunities for the people of the 8th District of Ohio. Great progress has been made nationally in the last three years, and we must continue to work towards shared prosperity for our District. I am committed to reducing the income and wealth gap that exists in our society by creating millions of new jobs and ensuring equal opportunities for all individuals regardless of race or gender. I am dedicated to promoting workplace diversity and supporting unions to raise wages and guarantee equal pay for all individuals. I firmly believe that every individual deserves access to paid family leave and a secure and dignified retirement. These efforts will undoubtedly lead to a more prosperous society for all Americans. Let us work together and continue to strive for a better future for our country.

Reducing Health Care Costs and Improving Health Care Quality
As Americans, we deserve peace of mind knowing that our health care providers have our best interest at heart. That’s why I will take action to eliminate surprise medical billing and increase price transparency in the healthcare system.

When it comes to prescription and coverage, I am committed to keeping costs low and making sure everyone has access to necessary resources such as medical, dental, vision, and hearing services. My belief is that by addressing health care deficiencies and fraud we can provide great health care to every Medicare and Private insurance patient, and will fight to ensure that everyone is able to receive the best care possible.

I am also dedicated to increasing the number of healthcare practitioners by increasing the enrollment in Medical schools aimed at putting Doctors in rural and low-income areas, so everyone can have access to quality healthcare. I believe in the importance of wellness programs for all, regardless of age or background.

Let’s work together in Ohio’s 8th District to promote an improved health care system that provides services for the entire well-being of all Americans.

Social Security and Care

Protection of Reproductive rights
I aim to help protect sexual and reproductive health and rights for women. As husband and a father of a daughter, I believe that comprehensive health services, including access to reproductive care and abortion services, are vital to the empowerment of women and girls.

I believe that all persons should be able to live with dignity, security, and respect, regardless of who they are or who they love.

We will ensure that our immigration policies account for the needs of refugees and asylum seekers, and that we use the full slate of human rights promotion and accountability tools to defend the universal rights of LGBTQ+ people. We will amplify the voices of LGBTQ+ persons around the world and counter violence and discrimination against LGBTQ+ persons wherever it appears.

Common Sense gun control
I also want to share my thoughts on gun reforms. As a gun owner myself, I believe in finding common sense solutions rather than outright total gun bans. It’s no secret that gun violence has had a devastating impact on countless families, friends, and communities. But I have hope that we can address this crisis by supporting evidence-based programs that prevent gun deaths from occurring in the first place. This includes making mental health care more accessible and supporting suicide reduction initiatives, funding interventions to reduce homicides and gun violence in neighborhoods, and strengthening protections against domestic violence.

I strongly believe in universal background checks, as well as closing dangerous loopholes that currently allow stalkers, abusive partners, and some individuals convicted of assault or battery to buy and possess firearms. By taking these steps, we can work towards making gun violence a thing of the past and begin to create safer communities for all.

The US Border
I support protecting the existing asylum system and other humanitarian protections, as the United States should be a beacon of hope for those who are suffering violence and injustice. It’s important that we don’t turn our backs on those in need, and as a Grandson of Jewish Immigrants who fled Europe during wartime, I deeply understand the importance and value of helping those who are suffering.

In the words of Hebrews 6:10, “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” Let’s prioritize extending compassion and support to those who need it most.[2]
