Campaign website

Goodman's campaign website stated the following:

ELECTION INTEGRITY

As your Representative, I will fight to ensure the election process is fair, safe and secure so that everybody can have confidence in the election process. If there is anything that the last two presidential elections have taught us, it is that Americans on both sides of the isle have lost faith in the process. I will use the full faith and power of my office to fight for election integrity, free of outside influence or tampering, so that we can get back to being the hallmark for democracy that we once were.

TERM LIMITS

As your Representative, I will fight for implementation of term limits of five terms (10 years) for members of Congress, and two terms (twelve years) for members of the Senate. Our Founding Fathers never intended representatives of the people to morph into a life-long ruling class. Everybody knows that career politicians are a fundamental problem in Washington—yet no one is willing to step up and do anything about it. Until now. And if the House and the Senate won’t follow my Term Limit program, then I will take it directly to the people in the form of a “Convention of States” (see article 4 of the U.S. Constitution). We Can do this, we Must do this and together, we Will do this!

LAW ENFORCEMENT

I have a thought… instead of defunding the police, how about we defund politicians, through term limits! Enough is Enough! I am sick of hearing the cries of the liberal left “Defund The Police!” Democrats like Julia Brownly have jumped on the Defund the police bandwagon and have carried the torch. Sadly, we have seen the effects of these actions in the form of skyrocketing crime rates and civil unrest.

NATIONAL DEFENSE

Ronald Reagan called it "Peace Through Strength," One only has to watch the evening news any given day to see the negative effects of Biden’s lack of commitment to our armed forces. As the Biden administration softens on military strength to appease the extreme left, the world is starting to unravel as a result. Russia bullying their neighbors, Chinese aggression toward Taiwan, and the Fiasco associated with the withdrawal in and the surrender of military equipment to the Taliban in Afghanistan, not to mention the abandonment of the Americans left behind. The United States Navy is the largest employer in Ventura County, and is the basis for our economic engine. While the trend of the current administration is to downsize our military, I will fight to keep our bases open, and in so doing, ensure continued employment by our largest employer.

2nd AMENDMENT

National crime statistics show, over and over that gun control creates more crime. The more restrictive the gun laws, the higher the crime rate. One only has to look at the violent crime rates in cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Dayton, and DC. Cities with the strictest gun control laws also have the highest homicide and other violent crime rates in the country. It’s the elephant in the room.

EQUAL RIGHTS

In the late 1970s a proposed constitutional Equal Rights Amendment failed ratification by only three states. This amendment simply stated “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of Sex” I believe it is time to re-introduce this amendment, with a minor adjustment. I propose the following Equal Rights Amendment of 2022: “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of Gender, Sexual Orientation, Race or Religion” Each and every one of us know someone who has been discriminated against because of their Gender, Orientation, Race or Religion. It’s time to do away with this discrimination once and for all by expanding these protections for all Americans.

IMMIGRATION REFORM

I believe that the current immigration system desperately needs a comprehensive overhaul. It is shameful for legitimate immigrants to our great country to be required to go through a process that takes 15-20 years. This policy fosters the illegal crossing into the country by those desperate to increase their quality of life, and indirectly creates revenue streams for cartels, fosters Human Trafficking, and all manner of suffering by those desperate to migrate, at the hands of those who victimize them. I do not believe that our Founding Fathers had this in mind, or would be pleased with the humanitarian crisis that our current policy has created at our Southern Borders. We can do better, we must do better and once I get into office, we will do better!

EDUCATION REFORM and SCHOOL CHOICE

When the U.S. Justice Department instructed the F.B.I. to open investigations into parents who spoke out in school board meetings, they transformed what should be a local issue into a Federal issue. The Federal Government is exceeding the scope of their responsibilities in federalizing education of our youth. Further, there is a state ballot initiative being proposed that would allow funding for the school of choice for each child. This funding could be used for private schools, charter schools or public schools of choice. Unused funds in these accounts would carry over and be available for college tuition for a number of years after graduation from High School. This will encourage under performing schools to do better, and it will level the education field for those in under sevred communities. This approach makes sense to me. I am proud to have signed the petition to have this proposed law get onto the ballot.

JOB GROWTH

Creating meaningful, good quality jobs in our Congressional District is critical to enhance our quality of life. When the economic engine is functioning correctly, most social issues begin to resolve. Homelessness, Housing, Crime, Education.

PRO ENVIRONMENT

Safeguarding our environment is our sacred responsibility to out posterity. Being an environmentalist and being industrialized are not mutually exclusive. I was raised to be environmentally aware. As an Eagle Scout, I learned at a very young age how precious our environment is. As a result, I have practiced common sense environmentalism all of my adult life. One example of this is that I have driven alternative fuel vehicles for over 20 years. From an old diesel truck, I converted to run on waste vegetable oil, which I obtained from barrels in the back of restaurants, to more recently running vehicles that operate on Compressed Natural Gas. I have owned three CNG cars and two CNG trucks. Currently, my daily driver is a CNG Honda Civic, that operates exclusively on clean burning, American produced Natural Gas. This is an ultra-low emissions certified vehicle. I am proud to have done my part for our environment for the majority of my adult life. I am committed to this cause, and will continue to seek out and utilize alternative fuels.

PRO ECOLOGY

Through the years, in the CA26 Congressional District, we have had a handful of ecological disasters. Most have taken place when we just didn’t know any better. Not all of those disasters have been dealt with. While the Ormond Beach is being cleaned up with superfund money, there are others that need attention. For example, the Matilija Dam. This Dam, which was built in the mid 1940s killed off the Ventura River, and with it one of the worlds largest steelhead trout populations. The Dam stands today, yet because the reservoir filled with sediment within a few years of having been built, is useless. The only chance of restoring the Ventura River, and possibly the Steelhead Trout population is the removal of the Matilija Dam. The project to remove the Dam is currently mired in litigation and excessive governmental regulation. Consequently, the costs to remove it have unnecessarily skyrocketed beyond the ability of local government or private environmental groups to fund removal. Once elected, I will be to using the full faith and power of my office to resolve this ecological disaster once and for all.

THE U.S. CONSTITUTION

As a constitutionalist, I will do whatever it takes to protect, preserve and defend it from all enemies, both foreign and domestic. When voting on legislation, one of the litmus tests will be the test of freedom... does the bill take freedoms from Americans, or does the bill preserve and protect our freedoms? Our government does not grant us freedoms. Our government exists to PROTECT our freedoms.

HEALTHCARE and MEDICARE REFORM

Healthcare costs, access and affordability are pressing issues for all Americans. With respect to the Medicare funding crisis, politicians, true to form have kicked the Medicare funding crisis can down the road long enough. Why? They are afraid it will cost them their jobs! I'm not going to Congress because I NEED a job! I will fight for real solutions to the Medicare funding crisis, and to lower healthcare costs, including lowering drug prices, ending “surprise” billing, and reducing premiums by expanding competition. Because I do not accept corporate donations or special interest money or support from any political party, my loyalty will be to YOU for a change! Isn't it about time?

AN INDEPENDANT... FOR A CHANGE!

Julia Brownly has been a puppet with Nancy Pelosi pulling the strings for nine years, and we have paid the price. I will not be bound by party politics, party loyalty, or party platforms. Our government today is more polarized than any time in my lifetime. Washington gridlock is the excuse politicians use justify not getting anything accomplished. That ends in our district the day I take the oath of office.[2]
