The city of Irving, Texas, held elections for city council on May 9, 2015. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was February 27, 2015. Three of the eight city council seats were up for election.[1] In the District 4 race, incumbent Joe Putnam faced David Gutierrez, Don Wilson and Phil Riddle. Because no candidate received a majority in the general election, the top-two candidates—Putnam and Riddle—advanced to a runoff election on June 13.[2][3] Riddle was the winner.[4]
