Herndon ran in the 2012 election for South Carolina House of Representatives District 52. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 12. Incumbent Laurie Slade Funderburk (D) ran unopposed in the Democratic primary. The general election between the two candidates took place on November 6, 2012. Herndon was defeated in the general election.[1][2]
