David Lent (Republican Party) (also known as Dave) is a member of the Idaho State Senate, representing District 33. He assumed office on December 1, 2018. His current term ends on December 1, 2026.

Biography
As of January 2020, Senator Lent resides in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Eastern Idaho Technical College and Idaho State University, and received his national credential in radiation protection. Lent's professional experience includes working as a nuclear facility training manager for Fluor Idaho at Idaho National Laboratory. He has served as chair of the Energy Facilities Contracting Group, on the Idaho Falls School District 91 Board of Trustees, and received a distinguished leadership award from the federal Department of Energy.[1]

2017
Two of the five seats on the Idaho Falls School District 91 Board of Education were going to be up for by-district general election on May 16, 2017, but the election was canceled due to lack of opposition. In their bids for re-election, incumbents Larry Wilson and David Lent were the only candidates to file to run for the Zone 1 and 2 seats, respectively. They were re-elected to the board by default.[2][3]
