David M. Ortley
David M. Ortley was a district court judge for the 11th District Court in Montana. He was elected to the position in 2009 and took office in January 2010. His most recent term expired in 2016. Ortley unsuccessfully applied for a nomination to the Montana Supreme Court in 2009 and 2014.[1][2][3]
Elections
2010
Ortley won 46 percent of the vote in the primary, advancing him to the general election. He defeated Heidi J. Ulbricht in the general election, winning 55.19 percent of the vote.[4]

Education
Ortley earned his B.S. in law enforcement from Mankato State University. He earned his J.D. from the Hamline School of Law in 1983.[2][3]
