|- Government needs to be open and transparent so you can see how your tax dollars are being spent. This will improve in Platte County if I am elected.
- People of all political parties and backgrounds enjoy parks and recreation facilities like trails and community centers. I want to continue the development and enhancement of these facilities in Platte County while using extensive citizen input in the planning process.
- We need to improve fiscal responsibility to avoid wasting your hard-earned tax dollars.
Parks, green space, and opportunities for recreation are essential for our health, quality of life and property values. Platte County is rapidly growing in population and we need to ensure adequate green space is preserved and park facilities provided for current and future residents to enjoy. I want to ensure this is done.

David Park completed Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey. The survey questions appear in bold and are followed by Park's responses.
What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
I am running for presiding commissioner as I want to ensure that our roads, parks, trails and recreational facilities are adequately funded; and, to address core County service needs such as law enforcement, particularly during rapid population growth. Platte County's credit rating needs to be addressed as well due to prior poor handling of Zona Rosa bonds resulting in our credit being downgraded to junk status. I will also increase transparency and public input in Platte County's decision-making processes.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Transparency and citizen engagement are very important to me. Platte County will best serve the needs and demands of residents when residents can readily observe policy discussions between elected officials. And, there needs to be opportunities for residents to provide input to be considered before important decisions are made by the commission. I will increase transparency and citizen engagement if I am elected.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
For 35 years I successfully managed public service programs, oversaw balanced budgets for these programs and found ways to "do more with less", while devoted to improving the quality of life in the community. I have the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to be successful as presiding commissioner in an organization as large and complex as Platte County government operations.

Ballotpedia biographical submission form
The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
“ | What is your political philosophy?
I want to ensure there continues to be sufficient funding for parks and recreation facilities in Platte County. There is also a lack of transparency with the current commission. Important decisions that significantly impact the residents of Platte County are being made with insufficient research and analysis and little or no public input. Is there anything you would like to add? All county operations will be reviewed to determine appropriate performance measures to ensure the most efficient methods are utilized in the delivery of services.[3] |
