David Puryear

Education
Justice Puryear received his B.S.E. degree from Southwestern University in 1978 and his J.D. degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1983.[1]
Career
Puryear began his legal career in 1983 as a criminal prosecutor in Travis County. He also served as a Travis County justice of the peace in 1988. In 1991, he became a judge on the Travis County Court at Law No. 6. He worked in this capacity through 1998. He then worked as a deputy director in the Special Crimes Division of the Office of the Attorney General until his election to the Court of Appeals in 2000.[1]
