David R. Jones was a judge on the United States bankruptcy court, Southern District of Texas.[1] He was appointed to the court on September 30, 2011, and became the court's chief judge in 2015.[2][3] He resigned from office on November 15, 2023.[4][5]

Education

Jones received his bachelor's degree from Duke University in 1983, his M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1986, his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 1992, and his LL.M. from Duke University in 2018.[3][6]

Career

Prior to his appointment, Jones was a partner with Porter Hedges, where he worked in the creditors’ rights, bankruptcy and restructuring group.[2] Jones was appointed to the court on September 30, 2011, and became the court's chief judge in 2015.[2][3] He resigned from office on November 15, 2023.[4]
