David R. Leitch
David R. Leitch (b. August 22, 1948) is a former Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 73 from 1989 to 2017. He also served as Assistant Minority Leader. He previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1986-1987.
Leitch did not seek re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives in 2016.

2014
Elections for the Illinois House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on March 18, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was December 2, 2013. Incumbent David R. Leitch was set to face Mark Zalcman in the Republican primary, but Zalcman was removed from the ballot on January 9, 2014, leaving Leitch unopposed. Leitch was unchallenged in the general election.[7][8][9]

Leitch won re-election in the 2012 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 73. Leitch was unopposed in the March 20 Republican primary and was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[10][11][12]

The Illinois Opportunity Project, "an independent research and public policy enterprise that promotes legislative solutions in advance of free markets and free minds," annually releases its Legislative Vote Card, grading all members in both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly on the basis of their support of "pro-growth economic policies that increase personal freedom and reign in expansive government."[16][17]

Leitch received a score of 37.50 out of 100 in 2012 for a grade of F according to the IOP’s grading scale. His score was tied for the 80th highest among all 120 members of the Illinois House of Representatives included in the Vote Card.[17]

Leitch and his wife, Marlene, have three children. He is a member of the Riverfront Business District Commission Board, Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan Board, Hemophilia Center of Central Illinois Board, Susan G. Komen Foundation, Race for the Cure Board, Institute of Physical Medicine Rehabilitation, Board, and the Lakeview Museum Arts and Sciences Board.[18]
