David Ralston
David Ralston (Republican Party) was a member of the Georgia House of Representatives, representing District 7. He assumed office in 2003. He left office on November 16, 2022.
Ralston (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Georgia House of Representatives to represent District 7. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Ralston became speaker of the House in 2010. He died on November 16, 2022, from an extended illness.[1]
Biography
Ralston's professional experience included working as an attorney.
Ralston served as chairman of the state House Judiciary Non-Civil Committee and vice chairman of the state House Judiciary Committee. Click here for more information about Ralston's committee assignments.
Ralston previously served in the Georgia State Senate, representing District 51 from 1992 to 1998.
In May 2011, Governing Magazine named Ralston one of 17 "GOP Legislators to Watch." Each of the legislators was selected on the basis of qualities like leadership, ambition, and political potential.[2]
Ralston was named 2010 Georgian of the Year by Georgia Trend Magazine.[3]
