David Richman
David Richman was a judge of the Colorado Court of Appeals. He assumed office on July 16, 2008. He left office on November 5, 2022.
Richman ran for re-election for judge of the Colorado Court of Appeals. He won in the retention election on November 6, 2018.
Richman was appointed by Democratic Governor Bill Ritter on June 30, 2008.[1] He was retained by voters in 2010.[2] Richman retired on November 5, 2022.[3]
Education
Richman received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1975.[1]
Career
Upon graduation, Richman served as a law clerk for Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge William Holloway until August 1976, when he joined the Denver Regional Office of the Federal Trade Commission as a staff attorney. In 1978, Richman joined the Denver law firm of Coghill Goodspeed & Horowitz as an associate and in 1980 became a shareholder in the successor firm, Coghill & Goodspeed, PC.
When that firm was dissolved, Richman took an of-counsel position with Burns, Figa & Will, PC. When Phillip Figa of that firm was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado in 2003, Richman left the firm to serve as Figa's law clerk. Richman clerked for the U.S. District Court until his appointment to the court of appeals in 2008.[1]
