David Rivkin is an partner with Baker Hostetler law firm in Washington, D.C. He spent the first 10 years of his life in the Soviet Union until his parents emigrated to the United States.[1]
He served in two Presidential administrations, and according to his website, "has extensive experience in constitutional, administrative and international law litigation." Rivkin has been involved in a number of high-profile cases, including the states' challenge to the constitutionality of Obamacare. He is a prolific author, columnist and TV and radio commentator.[2]
Rivkin received both an undergraduate and masters degrees from Georgetown University. He attended Columbia University School of Law and was admitted to the District of Columbia bar in 1985.[2]
John Doe investigations
Two John Doe investigations, beginning in 2010 and ending in 2015, were launched by Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm (D) into the activities of staff and associates of Gov. Scott Walker (R).[3] Rivkin played a role in disputing the constitutionality of the John Doe investigations related to Scott Walker.
