David Swinford
David Swinford was a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 87 from 1991 to 2010. Swinford resigned from office August 30, 2010.[1] Prior to his election to the House he served as Vice President for the Dumas Independent School District Board of Trustees from 1985-1990, and President of the Moore County School Board of Trustees from 1980-1985.
Swinford is a Marketing Manager with Dumas Coop Elevation. He has also worked as President/General Manager of the Moore County Grain Handling Company, a certified teacher in Vocational Education, and an agricultural consultant.
Swinford is a member of the Century Club - Texas Tech University, Lions Club, National Grain and Feed Association, Panhandle Grain and Feed Association, Texas Conservative Coalition, Texas Future Farmers of America Alumni, and Texas Grain and Feed Association.[2]

Swinford did not run for re-election in District 87. Democrat Abel Bosquez, Republican Four Price, and Libertarian James Hudspeth ran for this seat in the November 2 general election.
2008
On November 4, 2008, Swinford won re-election to the Texas House of Representatives from Texas' 87th District, defeating L. Blake Bailey (L). Swinford received 28,546 votes in the election while Bailey received 5,115 votes.[4] Swinford raised $246,602 for his campaign.[5]
