Biography

Turfe received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in 1987 and his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 1991.[1] Before he became a judge, Turfe worked as a sole practitioner with a focus as a trial attorney for fifteen years.[2]

Turfe was re-elected to the 20th District Court after running unopposed on November 6, 2012.[4][5]

Judges of the Michigan District Courts are each elected to six-year terms.[6] The elections for this court are nonpartisan contested elections. To serve on this court, a judge must be a qualified elector of the district, licensed to practice law in the state, under the age of 70, and have five years of experience practicing law.
