David W. Peterson (Minnesota)
David W. Peterson was a judge of the Fifth Judicial District in Redwood County, Minnesota. Peterson officially retired as of April 30, 2013, and then served a two-year term as a senior judge that expired in 2015.[1]
Education
Peterson received his B.A. from St. John's University in 1972 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1975.[2]
Career
Peterson began his legal career in 1977 as an assistant attorney in Polk County. In 1979, he moved to Lyon County, where he worked as an assistant attorney until 1983. He then became a county attorney there and worked in this position until his judicial appointment in 1990. From 1979 to 1986, he also worked as an attorney in private practice.[2] Peterson served as a Minnesota Fifth Judicial District judge from 1990 to his retirement in 2013.[1]
