David Williams (Kentucky circuit court judge)

David Williams is a circuit court judge serving the Fortieth Circuit in Monroe, Cumberland, and Clinton counties of Kentucky.[1]
He was appointed to the court in October 2012 by Governor Steve Beshear following the sudden death of Eddie C. Lovelace in September 2012.[2] Williams sought election in 2014 and was successful, winning a full eight-year term that expires on January 1, 2023. [3]

Williams received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky in 1975 and his J.D. from the University of Louisville in 1977.[4]

Williams was a Republican member of the Kentucky State Senate from 1987 until his appointment to the 40th Judicial Circuit in 2012. He represented the 16th District. Williams served in the Kentucky State House from 1985 to 1986. He served as president of the Senate from 2000 to 2012.

Williams won re-election to the 16th District Seat in the Kentucky State Senate with no opposition. He received 24,484 votes.[6] In the May 18th primary election, Williams defeated his Republican primary opponent Denver Capps by a margin of 18,407 to 4,143.[7]
