Wilson ran in the 2012 election for Delaware House of Representatives District 35. Wilson ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 11, 2012 and defeated Ronnie L. Fitzgerald, Jr. in the general election on November 6, 2012.[8]

Wilson won re-election to the 35th District seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. Wilson defeated James J. Westhoff (D) in the November 2, 2010, general election.[9]

On November 4, 2008, Wilson won election to the Delaware House of Representatives from Delaware's 35th District, defeating L. Aaron Chaffinch (D). Wilson received 5,174 votes in the election while Chaffinch received 3,311 votes.[10] Wilson raised $38,411 for his campaign; Chaffinch raised $38,828.[11]
