I am a lifetime Long Beach resident and recently retired from my career as a teacher in the LBUSD for almost 40 years. My last 12 years of teaching were at Wilson High School teaching her specialty math/music. I am still teaching as a substitute in the district. concurrently I was the elected Treasurer of the Teachers Association of Long Beach. When I took the position the association was insolvent and under severe scrutiny from the California Teachers Assoc. Under my management, we were able to clear the debt and are now functioning within budget.
  • The reason I am running for school board is to provide my expertise and see that funds allocated for education arrive at their intended destinations.
  • I also want to provide parents with full disclosure as to the curriculum being taught in the classroom so that they may make informed choices regarding the path for their children's learning.
  • I also want to ensure that LBUSD students are prepared for college and career by providing them with educational pathway choices that include the skilled vocational and technical trades, partnered with local business that will provide training through internships, shadowing, apprenticeships and more.
Education and the proper allocation of funds and preparation of students for careers outside of school.
