I am running for Merrimack County Treasurer because County governments have a duty to address the most pressing issues facing Merrimack County citizens. County governments are misunderstood, though the statutory requirements for what services a county are required to provide are low, the services that counties can provide are anything but. Aggressively pursuing grants to offset costs for the Sheriff, the Department of Corrections, the County Nursing Home, and several other departments will ensure county departments have the resources they need to support current programs, and expand into new ones when deemed necessary by elected Merrimack County officials.
Let’s save you money and meet the needs of our community together.
- Keep taxes low, lower them when possible.
- Establish a grants department to save the County money, and meet the needs of our community.
- Move the budget season as to reduce the amount of money the County pays towards interest payments for tax anticipation notes (local governmental loans through local banks).
-Caring for our aging population -Housing -Public safety
The County Treasurer is responsible for borrowing funds through tax anticipation notes to fulfill budget obligations before property taxes are received by the county.
I worked at a local grocery store from the start of high school until the middle of college. It instilled a strong work ethic in me!
