Dawn Caloca-Johnson is a judge of the Second Circuit Court of Florida. She serves in Leon County. She was appointed to this position by Gov. Charlie Crist on March 26, 2009, to replace Nikki Ann Clark.[1][2]

Caloca-Johnson was up for election in 2010 and 2016. No other candidates filed for the primary races either year, which were to be held on August 24, 2010, and August 30, 2016. The unopposed elections were canceled, and Caloca-Johnson was automatically re-elected. Her current six-year term ends in January 2023.

Caloca-Johnson received her B.S. degree from Jacksonville University and her J.D. degree from Florida State University. She was admitted to the bar in 1992.[3]

Caloca-Johnson has practiced law as a sole practitioner and with the firms of Madsen, Goldman & Holcomb; Bernstein & Caloca-Johnson; and Collins, Shipman & Lucas. She has also worked as an attorney for the Agency for Persons with Disabilities. From 1999 to 2008, she was a magistrate and hearing officer for the 2nd Circuit Court. She was appointed a judge of that court in 2009.[1]

Florida's 20 circuit courts all had seats up for election in 2016. Of the 151 seats up for election, 125 saw only one candidate file for the election. The unopposed races were canceled and the sole candidates were automatically elected. Of the 26 opposed races, only 10 saw more than two candidates file. [4]
