Dawn Fucheck was an at-large member of the Newburgh Enlarged City Board of Education in New York. She lost her re-election bid in a general election on May 20, 2014. She was first elected to the board in May 2005.

Dawn Fucheck is a resident of Orange County, New York. Fucheck earned her bachelor's degree from Pace University. She is employed as the manager of Billy Joe’s Ribworks. Fucheck also serves as the leadership development facilitator for the New York State School Boards Association.[1]

Dawn Fucheck, fellow incumbents Mark Levinstein and Thomas Woodhull and seven other challengers lost to newcomers Kenneth Copertino, Carole Mineo, William Swart and Darren Stridiron for the four at-large seats in the general election on May 20, 2014.

One of the seats up for election was vacated as a result of the death of board member Judith A. McAfee. Stridiron, the candidate who won election but received the fewest votes, received that seat, which carried an unexpired two-year term.[2]

In a survey conducted by the school district, Fucheck stated that the following should be the district's top priorities in 2014:

Raising the Graduation rate, developing district policies that address the needs of all students and staff, collaboratively develop a fiscally sound budget that maintains and supports students programs & services, while at the same time is responsive to the community ability to pay.[5]
