I have been married 25 years and we have 3 wonderful children together and 2 grandchildren who keeps our hearts full. I am very active in our church where I sing in the choir, help lead the congregation in music and I founded our essential closet. The essential closet provides everyday items that food stamps will not cover. I m very active in our secret sister group, where we support each other and pray for each other and our community. Professionally I’ve worked in a Clerk of Courts office for almost 25 years. During that time I mainly worked in the civil department, where I’ve learned every area and court within the division. I’ve also gained knowledge in criminal, special proceedings confidential, cashiering, bookkeeping and special proceeding departments . I’ve always taken pride in learning as much as I can about the Clerks office.
  • Knowledge- A well run office depends on a staff that understands their responsibilities fully. Every employee should be confident in their role and also cross trained in other divisions or courts. Cross-training creates a stronger, more flexible team and ensures that when someone is out, the office continues to function smoothly without interruptions. I will encourage staff and myself to attend trainings, attend conferences and expand their skills so they can perform at the highest level.
  • Customer service- is essential in every office. Every person who walks through the doors - the public, judges, attorneys and all judicial partners- deserves to be treated with kindness, respect and fairness. No matter who you are or who you know, you should receive the same level of professionalism and courtesy. Our office should feel welcoming, supportive and committed to helping every individual who needs our services.
  • Dedication- along with my experience, my work ethic and my heart for this office- is why I believe I am the best candidate for Lincoln County Clerk of Court. I’m not running to be flashy or perfect. I’m running because I care deeply about this county and office, I understand this office inside and out and I will work every day to serve the people of Lincoln County with integrity, compassion and respect.
The Clerk of Courts office is where all the records are stored for every single case filed. I believe maintaining accurate records in a timely manner is essential. If something is entered incorrectly it could damage a person’s life. I will work diligently and directly with all my staff to ensure all records are correct. I will work beside my staff to help make this office the best out of the 100 counties in North Carolina.
