On September 12, 2021, a police report accusing Jelks of rape was filed with the Chattanooga Police Department.[1] Jelks denied the accusation and posted the following to his social media, "As far as the elephant in the room, I know that I have let down my supporters, family and friends by having a consensual yet inappropriate relationship."[2] As of September 15, 2021, Jelks had not been charged with a crime.[2]
