Rebecca Toetz is the superintendent of the DeForest Area School District. She started serving on July 1, 2022. Her previous career experience includes serving as the district's Director of Instruction.[1]

Past superintendents

Eric Runez was the superintendent of the DeForest Area School District until June 30, 2022.[2] Runez's previous career experience includes working as a social studies teacher, educational counselor for at-risk students, and principal.[3]

School board

The DeForest Area School District Board of Education consists of nine members elected to three-year terms. One member represents the district at large, one represents the town of Burke, one represents the towns of Vienne and Leeds, three represent the village of DeForest, and three represent the village of Windsor.

Elections for the DeForest Area School District Board of Education are held every year in April. If needed, primaries are held in February. Three seats are up for regular election each year.

Three seats on the board were up for general election on April 1, 2025. A primary was scheduled for February 18, 2025, but it was canceled due to lack of opposition. The filing deadline for this election was January 7, 2025.
