Taylor told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he would focus on creating recreational and vocational opportunities for youths and building relationships between police officers and the community if elected in 2017. He said, "Being mayor is the position that intersects between the community's needs and those who make the decisions, and I understand the community's needs.
