Dean Simpson was a Republican candidate for lieutenant governor of Minnesota in the 2014 elections. He lost in the Republican primary on August 12, 2014. The general election took place on November 4, 2014.

Simpson was a Republican member of the Minnesota House of Representatives representing the 10th District from 2002 to 2008.

Biography

Simpson has been the chief executive officer of Deans Country Markets since 1972. He served as the mayor of New York Mills from 1979 until his election to the state house in 2002.[1]

Simpson ran for election as Lieutenant Governor of Minnesota. He lost the Republican nomination in the open primary election as the running mate of gubernatorial candidate Kurt Zellers. Current incumbent Mark Dayton, a Democrat first elected governor in 2010, ran for a second term in 2014.[2]

The general election took place on November 4, 2014.
