Efforts to recall treasurer Debbie Boothby and clerk Carolyn Phillips in Benton Charter Township, Michigan, from their positions were launched in May 2015.[1] The recall efforts did not go to a vote because supporters failed to turn in enough valid signatures.[2]

Recall supporters

The pair are targeted for recall over allegedly making political deals "behind closed doors." The appointment of Kevin White as township supervisor is the first alleged case of these backroom deals.[1]

A number of signatures were thrown out for having incomplete addresses or being filled in by someone other than the signer.[2]
