The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Martin Malave Dilan defeated Debbie Medina in the Democratic primary, while Jonathan H. Anderson was unopposed in the Conservative primary. Medina also ran on the Working Families Party ticket. Dilan defeated Anderson and Medina (WF) in the general election.[5][6][7]
