Biography
Atherton is a consultant for Abell and Atherton Educational Consulting. Prior to her retirement she served as a principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels for 29 years. She has also been a Director of Secondary Education, a District Assessment Coordinator, and Regional Science Consultant for the Kentucky Department of Education.[1]

As incumbent Tim Wiseheart did not file for re-election, newcomer Debby Atherton ran and won re-election unopposed in District 3, while District 4 incumbent Dolores Ashby defeated challenger Scott Matthew Hrebicik.
