Debby Barrett
Debby Barrett is a former Republican member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 36 from 2009 to 2017. Barrett served as President Pro Tempore in 2013 and 2015. She served as Senate president from 2015 to 2017, making her the first woman to lead the chamber.[1]
Barrett did not seek re-election to the Montana State Senate in 2016 because she was term-limited.
Barrett served in the Montana House of Representatives from 2001 to 2009. During her time in the House, she served as Republican Whip.

Barrett won re-election in the 2012 election for Montana State Senate, District 36. Barrett ran unopposed in the June 5 primary election and defeated Richard Turner (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[6][7]
