Deborah A. Chimes is a judge of the New York Supreme Court 8th Judicial District. Her current term ends on January 1, 2039.

Chimes (Democratic Party, Republican Party, Conservative Party) ran for re-election for judge of the New York Supreme Court 8th Judicial District. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.

Biography

Chimes received her B.A. and J.D. degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1985 and 1989, respectively.[1] Chimes worked as a trial attorney throughout her legal career. She first worked for the law firm of Grosse, Chelus, Herdzik & Speyer from 1990 to 1998. She then practiced with Walsh & Wilkins from 1998 to 2008 and with Barth Sullivan & Behr from 2008 to 2009. She then practiced with Lippman & O'Connor until she became a Supreme Court justice. She has also served as a Town Justice of the Orchard Park Town Court and an Acting Judge of the Orchard Park Village Court from 2004 until she joined the Supreme Court.[1]
