Deane ran in the 2012 election for Maine State Senate District 31. Deane ran and lost against Emery Deabay in the Democratic primary on June 12, 2012.[1] Incumbent Richard Rosen (R) did not run for re-election. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
