Deborah Eyler (Colorado)

Deborah Eyler is the chief judge for the Colorado 10th Judicial District Court. She was appointed to this court by Gov. Ritter in August of 2008 and took office the following December 1st. On June 1, 2012, she became the Chief Judge.[1][2]

Eyler received her undergraduate and J.D. degrees from Creighton University.[3]

Eyler worked as a private practice lawyer prior to her judicial appointment.[1]

Eyler was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 75.45 percent of the vote.[4]

Judicial performance evaluation
The Tenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.[3]
Judge Eyler was recommended for retention by an unanimous vote. [5]
