McKee ran in the 2012 election for New York State Assembly District 4. She ran unopposed in the Republican primary on September 13, 2012. She also ran on the Conservative Party ticket. Incumbent Steven Englebright ran unopposed in the Democratic primary; he also ran on the Working Families Party and Independence Party of New York State tickets. McKee was defeated by Steven Englebright in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2][3]

McKee was uncontested in the September 14 Republican primary. She was defeated by incumbent Steven Englebright (D) in the general election on November 2.[4] In addition to running on the Republican ticket, McKee ran on the Conservative Party ticket.
