Hello I am Debra, I have strong ties to Raleigh. I was born at St. Agnes on St. Augustine University's campus and I purchased my home in Southeast Raleigh because I loved the area and still do. I have the same concerns and issues that you have concerning our city.Affordable housing, safe communities and competitive education for our students in a safe environment. I need your vote to work toward our issues.
  • Affordable housing on a sliding scale based on one's income and not Section 8
  • Gerrymandering has become a ruthless tool that is effectively been used to silence the Black vote. This has go to stop and the field made even.
  • Safe communities. Make the communities safe while we are in them not make it safe for others after we have been removed from historically Black neighborhoods.
Gerrymandering is enemy number one. The districts lines are being drawn every few years in favor of the opposing party and this has to stop if we are to have an effective voice in politics
My parents, our father has passed but my mother Blanche is an example for all. We were taught to share from early on. They lead the example for us. My mother is the strongest person I know, she has lost three sons to illness and her husband our father and she picked up and carry our family on. She is love walking and breathing everyday. She will be my example in the House of Rep., love when you want to cry and forgive when you want to hate. My hero will be my mother.
Morals and Ethnic, it sad to say they cannot be taught.
I believe in the causes I am fighting for, I work well others and know how to compromise. I have ethics and morals and in knowing right from wrong and doing it!
Never forget those who elected them and never compromise what you know is right
I was compared to my mother, that I knew forgiveness and more importantly I loved people
Keeping quiet when I seen mistreatment of others ( at times myself) in the workplace when it came to promotions. when you are promoted based on favoritism and not merit or talent.
One where they may not totally agree but can come to an agree for the sake of the citizens they server
No. I retired from state government and i may know how some policies may operate I do not know enough to make me an expert. I feel the constitution stated "for the people by the people" was for the very purpose of anyone being able to serve.
I feel it is necessary to have a successful session. No one party have all the answers or solutions. It's a must to reach across the aisle to make or change policies for the good of the citizens of this state.
I like some of the qualities of legislators but I cannot think of anyone at the moment I would like to model after.
Different ones I know who are working in 12.00 an hour jobs and cannot afford a home, not a million dollars in the bank, no not riches just a key to but in a lock to the door of their home.
Yes I do, i feel compromise may be needed to get across the goal line.
